24746 2001-11-17 08:44:00 Someone said to me in passing that WinXP can be backward compatible by clicking the exe of the program, not sure if they meant the XP.exe or the third party software exe, select properties>general>select Win98 or something to that effect. Anyone here know what I am rambling on about and maybe enlighten me and others about XP being backwards compatible? Guest (0)
24747 2001-11-17 23:53:00 If you run a program and it does not function as expected, it is recommended that you run the program in one of the compatibility environments. This emulates the selected OS environment.

To run programs in Windows Application Compatibility mode in Windows XP, right click on the link of the program that you want to fix. Click on Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab. Click on Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000. Under Display settings, check mark the mode that you think that is necessary for the program to work correctly:
Run in 256 colors. Run in 640 X 480 screen resolution.
Disable visual themes.
Click on Apply. Click on Ok.

Double click on the program.
