| 24715 | 2001-11-17 03:26:00 | Hi I want to host a few web sites using apache (latest version) using virtual hosting but I dont know anything about DNS. Is it possible to host a DNS server on a LAN so I can learn the basics ie assign the domain names www.123.com and www.abc.com (which I dont own) to 192.168.1.123 on my LAN asuming it wont be connect to the internet. Also is IIS avalible for windows 9x PC's ? And could you please tell me what BIND is. Thanks a lot |

There are a couple of ways you can host multiple sites on a single server using Apache. You'll need to learn a bit more first though - then decide what will best suit your situation. I doubt very much IIS will run on Win9x - and if it did, I doubt it would survive 5 minutes connected to the net. |
