but nothing

1282857 2012-06-19 23:52:00 progress: the printer MAC address and the new IP i assigned show up in the router DHCP table but the connection failed message comes up

when i go back into the printer settings, the IP address, Subnet Mask and Gateway have all reverted to 000.000.000.000

1282858 2012-06-20 01:23:00 Try turning off DHCP on the printer and give it a static ip address.

Also is the firmware for the NIC in the printer up to date?

1282860 2012-06-20 02:31:00 set the IP as static( other options included DHCP)

then went to search for the SSID, found it, put in pasword, but still connection failed

1282862 2012-06-20 04:02:00 Had recent problem with a home network printer recently. My wireless connection to the printer would work for one computer and allow printing, whilst with the other continued to fail indicating that the printer was not found.even thoughit worked with the other. Don't know if this had anything to do with it but one puter was running XP the other W7. After trying everything like you I decided to uninstall the printer software on the problem machine and then downloaded the most recently available installation files and reinstalled the printer . The net result was that when reinstalled, the printer was found and is now working 10 days later without any further hitches. Go figure! smurf (6545)
1282863 2012-06-20 04:12:00 all 3 laptops that normally use the printer are Windows 7
the desktop, connected via usb is Vista home premium
firmware is up to date

1282864 2012-06-20 04:58:00 Using the setup CD didn't work for me but when i went to the HP website and download a full installation file from there all worked. Just a thought:) smurf (6545)
