1260574 2012-02-22 02:35:00 Yes Mike, I’ve do have a G-Mail account for that very purpose.

However, that many people have my present Kinect E-Mail address I’m loath to change it.

It’s an absolute pain.

I tried to ring TelstraClear before to enquire about telephone number transportability, but couldn’t get any reply after hanging on 15 minutes. Just the old worn out recording advising they’d answer shortly. Not a good start. :groan:

Someone out there might be able to answer the number transportability question.

CYaBro, I’d appreciate it if you could let me know what you think after you’ve tested it for a bit.

You can keep your existing number, that's what they told us anyway.

1260576 2012-02-22 09:49:00 Telstra Clear cable works well for me Twelvevolts (5457)
1260577 2012-02-24 08:28:00 Received the free router today.
Still waiting to be switched over to TC though.

It's an unknown model to me and searching the model# NB304N doesn't bring up much info, but it looks pretty good.
It a 4 port ADSL2+ wireless N (up to 300mbps), supports IPV6, and has a USB port for attaching a USB HDD.
It would probably retail for around $150-$180.

I'll hook it up tomorrow and give it a test.

1260579 2012-02-25 11:09:00 Well as I suspected the connection has been switched over to TC . I swapped routers and setup the new netcomm with my xnet settings but it wouldn't connect . Changed it to the TC login and it connected .

Not the most user friendly GUI on the netcomm and the wifi was off by default .

Connection is as good as it was with xnet except I have full upload speed now as was still on an old 128k upload plan with xnet .

We can't get adsl2 here as we are too far from the exchange .
We get about 6mbps down and now about 0 . 8mbps upload .

The wifi signal is not as good as it was with the old belkin router so may put that back but will leave it for now .

I recommend using a belkin one, glad you got connected pretty fast . there's a back log of orders at the moment and for those that are on naked dsl it may take a while
