1259890 2012-02-19 23:32:00 It will be argued by some that 1080 is not good enough for a 32" monitor.
.

I'd like to see a highend 32" lcd vs a $500 32" lcd in a side by side comparison.

I've been using a 1080 32" lcd as a monitor for a few months, recently switched back to my old 23" LCD, it runs at a lower res then my 32" but the increased clarity, detail, depth, colours was jarring.

I went back to the 32" though, Size matters.

1259893 2012-02-20 01:27:00 Leave the guy alone. Who cares whether he is spoilt or not. He asked for some advice and is getting shot down for being lucky enough to have a parent who wants to buy him a TV. Good on them and Good on him.
Typifies many of the posts and threads seen around here of late to me.

Thanks :)

I normally buy this type of stuff myself, but now that both my parents are working, she wanted to get me a new tv, as i wanted to eventually get one.

She thinks that all the other brands cost like $1000 or something. Once i show her the other "Normal" brand ones, which are similar prices, she'll be happy, and probably more confident in the purchase.

I don't want her buying something that's gonna break down in 2 years time. I wan't her to buy something that'll last.

Have a look on the jbhifi website...quick browse shows a Samsung and Panasonic for under $500. Not sure if it meets the spec's you're after though.
