I didn't know about horses but it reminds me of my grandfather telling me you could pass out on the horse on the way home because it knew where to go.

I think you'll find that using personal music players while cycling is not illegal, merely stupid (being potentially life-shortening).... As are the other things you mention, but the others are covered by legislation.

I never said they were illegal ;) But they're not permitted under the NZ Road Code as far as I'm aware.
