| 1260479 | 2012-02-21 19:35:00 | When it comes to organs, I guess Big is Best, just a pity it's Aussie :groan: Our own Auckland Town Hall Organ may be not as impressive, but it's well on the way there since its recent restoration. There's a ongoing series of free organ recitals, one of the conditions of the bequest (I was going to say endowment :groan: ) by the donor (an organ donor :groan: ). Seriously! | 1260481 | 2012-02-22 03:16:00 | Indeed, I was going to learn how to the play buy I was told Learn piano for 8 years first. Stuff that! I wanted to play organ not piano, lost motivation to learn and it went down hill. SO far every decent organist I have met learned on an organ. Have a reed organ at home that has a bit of restoration work in progress. nothing like a proper pipe though. |
