2012-02-19 15:38:00 | LINK::: www.voanews.com Iran says it has stopped selling crude oil to France and Britain, a move seen as retaliation for a phased European Union ban on Iranian oil that has yet to take effect. Iran's Oil Ministry said Sunday that all exports to French and British companies have ceased and that Tehran has taken steps to deliver its crude to new customers. The move appeared designed to preempt an EU decision to stop importing Iranian crude oil beginning July 1. The embargo is part of Western efforts to impact financing for Tehran's disputed nuclear program, which the West says is aimed at producing atomic weapons. Iran denies this. ....and US gas prices are rising rapidly. How much ya wanna bet Prez "Share The Pain" Obama sends US supplies to The UK and France to help them out at the expense of the trench people here in the US? Oh ---- but that ain't the end of it - right? THEN Iran will stop oil to the US since oil going through the back door to The UK/France from the US --- will be punished too. We were under $3/gallon (NZ= I dunnow) just up until two days ago and now we are above $3.60/gallon. Prices are prophesied to go to $6.00/gallon in the next 20-30 days. THEN --- yez gets this message in the same article:::: }Also Sunday (today in the US) , U.S. National Security Advisor (sic) Tom Donilon is due to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem amid rising tensions over Iran's nuclear program - and reports that Israel might be preparing a military strike. The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, says an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would not be "prudent." In an interview to be broadcast Sunday, the general told CNN a military strike would be "destabilizing" and would not achieve Israel's long-term objectives. Just another case of Brinksmanship? I think maybe not! In less severe times of more available money, this may not be as bad as it looks - but now is the middle of The Winter of Fiscal Discontent. "It is the worst of times and the worst of times".

2012-02-19 19:31:00 | For reference .. US$3/Gallon ~ NZ$0.95/litre US$3.60/gallon ~ NZ$1.14/litre US$6/gallon ~ NZ$1.90/litre Petrol here has been over NZ$2/litre since January 2011 :P But yes, it's a delicate situation, and will be enlightening to see how it's handled.

2012-02-19 19:46:00 | Don't panic SJ ... once we get the deep sea drilling under way ... give the locals some blankets and beads so we can then frack them into the middle of next century ... we'll be able to supply the US enough oil to keep 3 of your 4 vehicles running for at least 5 out of 7 days of a week ... But on the serious side ... it is a bit of a worry. I remember reading a book many years ago (like 20 - 25) called "Down to a sunless sea" ... all about WW3 being started by a small oil producing country in the middle east. Fiction at the time, but it has stuck in my mind ever since. The current situation should be a concern to us all ... some scary sh!t is starting to happen.

2012-02-19 19:53:00 | I cant see the problem, they were going to cease buying oil from Iran in July. So Iran pulled the pin a few months early. The biggest problem I foresee is if the idf planes bomb Iran. The Iranians arent Arabs and they arent going to roll over. They would launch suicidal attacks against Isreal just like they did in the Iran Iraq war, attacks General Haig would have been proud of. They will then make in very deep shelters nuclear bombs as would be their right if attacked.

2012-02-19 20:02:00 | Bit of a contradiction there prefect ... you can't see a problem in the first sentence, but can in the 3rd ... but it's the last one that you should be consider the biggest problem. If it ever eventuates, it's not going to be localised ... it going to have repercussions around the world. | SP8's (9836) | |

Iran stops selling oil to Britain and France 2. idf planes attack Iran |

2012-02-19 20:37:00 | Yep ... and you'll notice it will cost a little more when the oil price goes up ... as will everything else because of transportation costs. | SP8's (9836) | |
2012-02-19 20:39:00 | Yep ... and you'll notice it will cost a little more when the oil price goes up ... as will everything else because of transportation costs. Just means Iran will have to find new customers like us and sell the oil at a discount :)
