| 25147 | 2001-11-21 23:39:00 | TCP/IP - can also be installed through: 'Control panel/Network - scroll down through installed compontents and if TCP/IP isn't listed click the 'Add' button, highlight protocol, click the 'Add' button, highlight 'Microsoft', and scorll down to TCP/IP & click OK or have disk etc (you may need your Installation CD). Port 110 - Make sure your email client is configured properly according to the instructions in the email help section. This does not apply if you have checked for new e-mail before and have not changed your configrations since. Have you successfully connected to the POP3 server from this location before? In other words, are you trying to connect to the POP3 server for the first time or from a new location for the first time? Verify that you are not behind a firewall! If you are at work, this should be your first clue. If you find that you are behind a firewall, verify with the network administrator that port 110 is allowed. If it is not, this is the reason you cannot connect to the POP3 server Call your ISP or whoever is providing you the connection to the Internet and verify that port 110 (POP3) is not denied. If it is, this is the reason you cannot connect to the POP3 server Finally, log into your Personal Control Panel, and click the server name where your domain is hosted. Verify that POP3 service is not currently unavailable. |

| 25148 | 2001-11-22 06:11:00 | Thanks Jamie Im using Win XP Home Edition, and by default a Firewall is switched ON, I unchecked this box, rechecked NAV and Auto Protect is now working. Im might be speaking a little Too Soon, but so far, so good. I have purchased NAV 2002, but cant find a Remove function for NAV 2001> Tried the rough way io uninstall it (Windows Explorer) but all it did was cause grief. Any ideas how to unload it? NAV 2002 will not install while 2001 is inplace. Thanks again for your response. Cheers.....John. |
