25448 2001-11-25 02:31:00 Hi David,

Hook yourself up with a copy of linux and you can have an ftp server running in 30 minutes. Even I managed it (for something to do)!!!

25449 2001-11-25 04:29:00 hi David,
there are a few steps you will need to take to set up a FTP server. Unless you are using Jetstream and have requested a static IP address you will have a dynamic one. For people to locate you you will have to tell them the current IP address. To avoid this problem you can use a dynamic DNS service such as www.dyndns.org (This one is free). The Ni500 performs NAT if I remember correctly, so you will have to create a port mapping (pinhole) so that the FTP ports (TCP 20, 21) on the Internet side of the router map to the IP address of a machine on the inside, eg 192.168.1.10
Finally you will need some FTP server software. There are many free ones such as warFTP. Good luck!!
