25681 2001-11-26 09:46:00 Alright, I had Outlook Express 5.5 on my WinME system. Unfortunately, it kept changing my POP3 info and login/password. For example, this:

U: User
P: ****
POP3: pop3.xtra.co.nz

changes to this:

U: User/pop3.xtra.co.nz
P: ****
POP3: localhost

I don't know why it would be, or if its bad... it seems to be slowing down the process of checking my e-mail, but I could be wrong there.

I have got httpd, I'm not sure if that will help, I don't use it though.

Thinking it would fix the problem, I upgraded to Office XP, with Outlook XP included.. but no. Same problem.

Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

25682 2001-11-26 10:21:00 Hi, one thing you can try is going through the settings in your AV (especially if it is norton) which has a habit of overwriting OE properties Guest (0)
25683 2001-11-26 11:00:00 with Norton Antivirus, and some others, they set certain tasks for email to go through itself so it can scan your emails for viruses... I think well worth the extra few seconds (received about 3 in my emails this week, picked up by the AV). Guest (0)
25684 2001-11-27 00:11:00 Yeah, I have PC-cillin 2000 antivirus, with POP3 protection. Thanks! Guest (0)
