| 25541 | 2001-11-25 10:08:00 | Hi, till now, my teacher has expected our class to put a 1cm border/frame on all our works, and so i've always gone into page setup, made it 1cm all the way round then made a frame with the function in ms words, however, now that i need to print with a different size border (2cm) ---don't ask me why? its the teachers expectation that i have to follow, every time i do the same thing, going into page setup and changed it all the way round to 2cm, but however when i come to putting a frame on it, its creates a 1cm border instead of 2cm, so i would like to know either if there's any way to disable default (which i might of mistakenly set) or be able to create a 2cm border. i do know however that there is other ways to do this; by using the square/rectangle tool to create a box, then put it to back, or making a text box, but my main point of not doing this is because a) its so fastrating doing this when you know you can do it faster anmd more accurate on a night before the work is due and b) i sometimes need to have a frame with 'picture' (no just lines) I use ms words 2000, and any help would be appreciated. |

Choose your style etc. Choose to apply to Whole document, or sections, or single pages etc. Click on options. Select measure from... Text Select the no. of points away from the text you want the border - I found one or two to be fine. Click OK. Click OK. Goto page setup. Make your margins 2cm. This works best if your text is justified. The margins are measured from the tex, so you might want to make them slightly bigger than 2cm to make up for the border being 1-2 points off the text. Sorry, I can't remember how big a point is, but it is only a couple of mm. Hope this works for you. G P |
