| 25502 | 2001-11-25 04:32:00 | Unable to establish connection using LPT1 (Parrallel Port). All proceedures followed, and software settings executed. Troubleshooter Wizard actions carried out. Using ECP 25 pin connection cable. Noticed that once both ports are connected, they are flagged BUSY by MSD, and appear nonresponsive even when Cable Connect software is not running. It appears the very act of connecting the Ports together is disabling them. Using Win95. Any suggestions welcome.. |

It took me hours to get it to work all because I didn't notice that the host machine had turned off the LPT1 port, I had to go and enable it again in the Control Panel's System box. Take note of what Erin said also. And both computers need to have the same workgroup name and use the same protocols as well. Try again with these suggestions and post back if you are still stuck. |

The cable is not the magic part here: it's the bidirectional ports that let it all happen. The 'busy' status from MSD indicates that something like this is the problem. Have you got a LapLink type cable? It might be slower, but it will work. |
