25570 2001-11-25 21:53:00 I have asked help on this a couple of times with no solution so I'll try again.
2 computers
DSL connection
OS Win98SE
Email editor MS Word 2000
I receive a newsletter with pictures in it. From one computer I can print out the newsletter no trouble.
From the other computer the pictures appear as a large box with a small box top left with a red x in it.
Changing the printer makes no difference.
Thanks for any help
David

25571 2001-11-25 22:47:00 Check your browsers settings.

Open your browser and go Tools>Internet options>Advanced and from the list make sure 'Show all pictures' has a tick, then scroll down further to Printing and make sure 'Print background cloours and images' is ticked.

25572 2001-11-26 02:24:00 Thanks B C but I've already done that and still will not print. I have just tried Rt clicking and saving an image which comes up as a .bmp file. I then have no problem printing the image. ?? David Guest (0)
25573 2001-11-26 08:22:00 Hi David, I had a similar problem some months ago when I was trying to display/print images from the US Patent Office. Their image files are in .tiff format and my system did not know that file type.
The US PTO help system advised that I should download a plugin for Internet Explorer called Alternatiff and associate .tif files with IE. This fixed the problem. I don't know that this is your problem but if you can establish the format of the source image file and check that you have the software and the file association to deal with it, it may be the answer.
You could do a simple comparison check between the PC that works and the one that doesn't. Check the folder Internet Explorer/Plugins and then establish the image source file format. You can then do another comparison with the PC that works looking at file type associations.HTH PC

25574 2001-11-27 05:47:00 Thanks Peter. Your comments got me exploring and I found my problem described in Q271562 of the Microsoft Knowledge Base. However the fix detailed did not cure my problem. I then attempted to access online support and discovered I would have to pay for it! To fix their bug!
So perhaps someone else can help. Cheers David
