26006 2001-11-29 10:47:00 I have just purchased VersatileBackup and entered the code to enable it and everything was fine. I previously used it for 30 days free trial and know that the program is trouble free.
Every time I shut down and start my computer I have to enter thc registration code again! With the help of the software's author we have found that a .dll is being removed from the Windows folder, either at shut down or on startup. Any Ideas what might be doing that?

26007 2001-11-29 11:15:00 Hi,

You could try tracking down the .dll in question, and making it read-only. This may stop it being erased, if it doesn't, the program trying to delete it may bring up an error saying that it was unable to delete the .ddl because it is read only... If this is the case you can remove the program that does it! Or, as I suspect, .dll's are read only anyway!! Give it a go...

Good luck!

26008 2001-12-01 15:52:00 The .dll in question was not marked read only, so I made it so. The darn thing was gone again the next day when I started my computer. Any other Ideas? Guest (0)
