26256 2001-12-02 03:36:00 My Norton AntiVirus Ver.5 will only partly remove the files infected by the virus. Files still affected:
A0012102.cpy

It quaratined : HELPCTR.EXE but cannot repair it.
Should I upgrade to Ver.2001 or 2002.

26257 2001-12-02 04:32:00 Probably will do the trick. I'm not personally familiar with Nortons (try to avoid their products) but any antivirus software is only as good as it's updates. That the virus got onto your computer tells you that it's out of date. Guest (0)
26258 2001-12-02 05:07:00 If I remember right from my time using NAV5, it does not do a email scan, that came in versions 2000+. If you want email protection look for v2000+ and configure to scan emails, we have ours set up to automatically delete all infected attachments which to date it has done a wonderful job of doing. 26259 2001-12-03 12:42:00 Sometimes it just can't repair it, and you will just have to delete it.

Because it is a program file you won't loose anything, if deleting it breaks a program, just reinstall the affected program.
