26492 2001-12-04 08:41:00 I have Opera v6 on a Win2000 m/c and have set Opera as default in its preferences, nad have also used setbrowse.exe to set Opera as the default. This works OK for all URL references from other programs except for Outlook Express (v5.5)which I am using as my email client--it insists on opening up IE from any URL. The only way I can get them into Opera is by copying the shortcut and pasting.
ANy sugestions on how I can get OE to open URL's in Opera?

26493 2001-12-04 10:40:00 You don't say which particular files: jpg? gif? html?

Try the following:

Open Windows Explorer; View; Folder Options; File Types; Select the type of file and Edit, Edit it

26494 2001-12-04 12:03:00 Thanks, Heather

I have jpg and gif associated with a graphics program.

htm and its variations are already associated with Opera in the Folder options/Files Types applet, but the URL file type was not. I edited it to Opera, but it made no difference.
