| 26712 | 2001-12-06 10:11:00 | Just recently while the Computer has been idle , the hard drve has been running intermittently . It was happening in any standby mode . I finally tracked the problem to the screen savers . Once this was disabled the problem ceased . Any Ideas how I can fix this would be much appreciated . I am running Windows 95 Thanks Greg C |

| 26713 | 2001-12-06 10:54:00 | a couple of things- swap file usage....get more ram. some of those screen savers are huge and very cpu hungry. spyware/trojens built into the screen saver....o joy ;-) do u really need to use a screen saver....i just switch the screen off when not useing it for a while. |

| 26714 | 2001-12-07 02:44:00 | Turning the screen off isn't the best idea if you are going to do it often. It can damage the screen after a while. If you do not want to run a screen saver just have the the power scheme power down the monitor and then eventually set it to turn it off. | Guest (0) | ||
