| 1283974 | 2012-06-26 02:55:00 | Hi and hoping you can help, again. I have been using an external hard drive, for way over a year, with no problems. Had my hard disk replace, yesterday and since then I can access some folders on the external drive, but one folder that I had set as private can't access. When I try to access i get a box that says:- +eL\My Documents is not accessible. Access is denied. Any ideas? Ian |

| 1283975 | 2012-06-26 03:02:00 | Right Click on the folder, goto properties -> Sharing & Security -> Security -> Advanced -> Take Ownership To avoid this problem in the future, do not use NTFS format for external drive. Use ExFAT instead |

| 1283979 | 2012-06-26 07:07:00 | I think that +el is used for scripting command ("empty list", maybe) when searching Google (note - quotes are often required if + is involved for searches in Google - since they dropped the + for operator searches to avoid confusion with their + social plus network). So a script may be required. Don't know if Microsoft Powershell (technet.microsoft.com) commands can help. |

So don't know what to do Start Windows XP Home Edition in safe mode If you are running Windows XP Home Edition, you must start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account that has administrative rights in order to access the Security tab. Access to the Security tab is required in order to change security permission. If you are running Windows XP Professional, you do not have to start the computer in safe mode.
