| 1261813 | 2012-02-29 02:30:00 | And what if all those jobs are in Wellington or Auckland and you live in the South Island WInz won't pay you to move and nor will an employer | gary67 (56) | ||
| 1261814 | 2012-02-29 02:36:00 | No. If you can find a job that gives you a bit more money then take it. While doing that you look for something else better. It was directed at pctek's post before yours. You were too quick off the gun ;) |

Explain where the money would be coming from to move, lets face it if your already on benefit you are hardly likely to have enough money to move to Auckland, unfortunately that's where Key's boot boys can't come up with a real answer |

If I had to I would crawl up the islands to get a job, I dont expect anyone else to pay for it including the tax payers. |

Assuming of course that the unemployed person has some money saved or a friendly bank manager to tide them over and cover their travel, accommodation and food until their first pay... It's not as black and white as some make it out to be - which is one of the reasons why no-one in government can resolve it |

So long as you're happy to jump through all the hoops that WINZ require you to jump through. My experience was that, the first time (heart operation and recovery) I (well, SWMBO - I was in hospital) had to supply a shitload of paperwork to formally identify me and my circumstances (fair enough), and then a few years later (unemployed, no work on the immediate horizon) I had to supply the EXACT SAME paperwork (things that had not changed - like copies of kids' birth certificates!!!). They had me on file, and copies of the original paperwork and yet they wanted it all again! PITA - ****ing bureaucrats!!!. And then they wouldn't contribute to one of my mortgages because the purpose of the loan (I had been truthful) had been to buy a car. They didn't seem to care that if that mortgage wasn't paid, my house would potentially be sold from under me. Luckily I found a job shortly thereafter and vowed I would NEVER go to WINZ again and NEVER let myself get in the position where I might need assistance, despite the huge amount of tax I pay. |

What utter BS comes out of Auckland these days, if it was that easy plenty would try it |
