He'd be better to tell them he robbed a liquor store if he wants to see the week out. EDIT: I believe I was questioned in an original thread about speculation of this event being gang-motivated, or that he would be a Maori boy. I stand justified on both counts There were a lot of people jumping to some pretty silly conclusions like it was the father that did it. I am very happy that you feel justified but would you have felt like a pratt if you had been incorrect in your assumption? |

I am very happy that you feel justified but would you have felt like a pratt if you had been incorrect in your assumption? Yup. If he was an upstanding pakeha, pacific islander, asian or even indian, from the north shore of Auckland, with no gang affiliations, perhaps even a church-goer (To be at the total opposite end of the scale), then sure I woulda felt like a right tool making those assumptions / acusations. However, looking at the minimal amount of facts that we knew prior to it, combined with our national statistics, it was a pretty safe assumption. The odds were stacked in my favour, that's the unfortunate truth. |

From my experience not all like him come out. I'm not able to help him now; he will be on his own for a while." Yup, in with the Lions as he deserves. Even inmates still respect women here in NZ, so I can envisage them dealing their own sentence to him. Turns out daddy was in the Mongrel Mob, and he wanted to be just like him, I believe it was pctek who hit the nail on the head with that in the previous thread, 10 points to her :D |

| 1262122 | 2012-02-29 20:49:00 | Inmates don't attack other criminals due to their wrong doings, they do it because they know is violence, and once they find a target for it then in their broken heads it all lines up. They get to do what they do, they get known for it, and they can justify it to the world. They not doing it to make teh world a better place, they aren't doing it because the crime is so shocking, they don't care in teh slightest about women or children, they are doing it it because to them it brings Mana, respect for acts of extreme violence. The same sick way of life that got them locked up in the first place. That aside, That kid was screwed over from the day he was born. www.stuff.co.nz |

| 1262125 | 2012-02-29 22:19:00 | Yeah they have some real weird hierarchy in there. They say there's no honour among thieves, but you'd be surprised in the prisons I've visited friends at... YMMV. | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||

Sorry, But you are way off, They are simply looking for someone lower down the totem pole then themselves, then they use violence to prove their position. Its an excuse, Not a moral stand. Those in jail know they are the scum of society. The lowest of the low. Rejected and locked away. |
