1260991 2012-02-24 00:34:00 That's rude. They make $38million so they have to sack 441 people.

Couldn't possibly be happy with $38M could they, no, might mess up the CEO's pay packet.

Given that they're mostly government owned, I agree. That said, $38m profit on >$1b revenue is very very low margins. Cutting $20m/year in costs will help dramatically. At the end of the day, they're a business, and they're far from the only ones making profit yet still laying off staff.

1260992 2012-02-24 00:55:00 Once the port is closed down, johcar can have the wharf areas converted to cycle tracks thereby freeing up the roads and footpaths for their intended purpose, some of the cranes can become gymnastic climbing frames and a couple of container cranes can be modified to serve as power loaded gibbets just so Prefect can deal to the jaywalkers and left-handed people. ;) R2x1 (4628)
1260993 2012-02-24 00:58:00 That is only a 1.65% return on operating revenue....not a lot methinks?

I thought we put the hospital there to treat sick people? The parking meters and speed cameras are supposed to bring in the income.

I thought Key was having an Asset Sale, not a Liability Sale.

Frankly, I can’t see Mum & Dad Investors or the Big Corporations opening their wallets very wide on those figures.

Indeed, I thought you would be in harmony with indifference.

The term excellent was supposed to spew sarcasm.
