1284350 2012-06-28 05:27:00 They are nice fat cables. There are, however, spare connectors on the mobo, so I've moved the USB plug to another one. This caused Windows to re-install some drivers, and required a restart (!), but atm touch wood it all seems to be working. I'll believe it once I've had a few days with no probs. :) Tony (4941)

Yep, the cheap cases have crap quality control too. I bought a cheap case once (just 1 step higher than laminated tinfoil) and one of the ports had the data lines swapped.

Motherboard ports can never be faulty like that unless the plug is physically broken, and that would get picked up in the factory since they actually do testing.
