| 1283895 | 2012-06-26 03:36:00 | So, is it safe to use your own tablet/laptop to access banking sites via your browser. No one else will have access to it? If you buy a PrePaid Modem Stick locally, plug it in and set up, there are no issue's. Lets put it this way, we have been using PrePay Modem Sticks in several Asian countries for at least the last 4 years with out any problems in regards to banking etc. Better to use your own laptop or tablet than use a cafe or hotel computer. Assuming you take all your usual safe guards, then there should be little to worry about. Just don't keep notes on your laptop or what ever of your account numbers and passwords that would be useful to someone if your laptop was stolen. |

I have also wondered what the best and safest thing to do is. I am thinking now, that I will get 3g capable Tablet when I travel next time. I've always just used the laptop that daughter loaned me, but the tablet is much lighter to carry round. Some good tips on safely using banking on this thread also. LL |
