1262059 2012-02-28 12:24:00 When I used to do web development, for a pretty standard page in html I used to tell the client it would be roughly $100 per page, it seemed to work out not bad then, but that was a few years ago. So, if its quite basic, maybe kind of look at it at about $150 per page, so I'm thinking a fair price would be around $600 give and take a bit. I think your suggestion of $800 is realistic, I also think $3000 + is way over the top, and for something thats template driven, is a bit of a rip off in my opinion. Hosting should be pretty cheap to if you dont require .php or .asp etc. Iantech (16386)

You're a clever dude, I'm sure you could whip the basics together...

Already have, took about half an hour, Sent it in and said that's what you should be looking at. I'll finish it up and have it online by the end of the week.

I'm more surprised by the quote, due to the cost being 3 times higher then I would have expected and how weak the quote was.

The company in question was going ahead with it until I caught wind of it and said hang on....

1262062 2012-02-28 20:37:00 Yea I would agree they were charging far too much! Especially if it is just a wordpress site. $600-$800 would be good. Depends who's providing the content of course. dpDesignz (15919)
1262063 2012-02-28 20:44:00 I'm not certain it was to be a word press site, I just had a look at the corresponding email/website and it was wordpress, and looked to me like a placeholder which he had merely added his name and phone number to.

Combine that with the quote, a four page word document with an empty table and a header on each one to represent the page and the price it set off a few alarm bells.

For all I know he may make stunning websites but there was no indication in the presentation.

1262065 2012-02-28 20:46:00 depends on static vs scripted/shopping cart.

for 4 static pages, no flash, maybe a little javascript.
about $400.

for 4 static pages, with flash (video or such like), javascript.
$800.

as soon as you start looking at interactive script, and shopping cart stuff..
$5,000 easy, $10,000 is not out of the question.
