27118 2001-12-09 08:17:00 what could be going on with my system as it is using cmos batteries like there is no tomorrow. I have gone through about 5-6 in the last 7 months. Guest (0)
27119 2001-12-09 08:34:00 hi Mick,

are you unplugging your PC from the wall every night?

27120 2001-12-09 09:27:00 Unplugging it from the wall is not the problem. Just a thought check that where the motherboard is fitted make sure there is no short. Guest (0)
27121 2001-12-10 02:25:00 The batteries in this application should give shelf life if they are the modern (lithium) ones. The memory and clock use only microamps.

Is this an older computer and are you using NiCds instead of the expensive lithium 4.5 volt ones (the type with a velcro attachment and a flying lead connection)? If so, the batts are not being charged, and a better cheap fix is to use alkaline AAs.
