26959 2001-12-08 05:01:00 I just installed Norton Anti-Virus 2001, did all necessary updates using LiveUpdate, set my settings, etc, etc.

But *now*, when I try to start the program, using the shortcut 'Norton Antivirus 2001' in the Start Menu or from the desktop, or by double-clicking the icon on the taskbar, I get the error: 'Norton Integrator could not initialize the current frame class. Please make sure you did not directly run the integrator.'

What do I do?

26960 2001-12-08 07:48:00 Hello Jack,

I've come across that problem a couple of times, easiest fix is to uninstall NAV, make sure the Norton Antivirus folder is deleted from Programme files then run a Reg cleaner ( Toniarts Easy cleaner is a simple, easy to use and free one, just type Easy cleaner into any search engine)after you have done that, shutdown your PC then restart and reinstall NAV again, make sure you have no other programmes running in the background at the time.

Everything should then be OK.

Regards

Alan

Jack's on to it. Try the 'Knowledge Base' from symantec.com for Norton AV.
Had the same problem and did the fix from the Knowledge base.
