The OS would run for a while then get fatal exception errors frequently usually in explorer or ie. One of these times it couldn't find a .vxd file, but nothing was deleted? I thought it must be hard drive problems, so tried a different hard drive but still came up with errors. I know the CD is OK. Last resort loaded 95 back on and works fine? Any ideas?? Also, sometimes had read errors from floppy? S-P133 with 80mb ram and 1.2gb desktop pc. Originally BIOS was set to user for HD stating cylinder/heads etc., I set to auto and works fine, why would they have set it like that? |

You can easily reinstall the hardware afterwards, and you have the ability to use the drivers you want rather than than the (sometimes) wobbly win98 generic ones. |
