| 27643 | 2001-12-15 13:44:00 | My sympathies, Nick ... However, Windows 2000 keeps individual profile settings, including Documents and Internet Files on the drive you have installed W2K to (usually the C: drive), in the Documents and Settings folder ... ... you may need to go to My Computer - Tools - Folder Options to unhide this folder by checking 'Show all files' ... when you get into the Documents and Settings folder, you will see a folder for each username that has been used to log on to the computer you are at ... go through them and check out the contents, especially the Internet Settings folders ... Failing that, do you remember the names of any of the files you are looking for? Using the Start Menu - Search for Files function is always a good way to locate files too. If you can't remember exact names, you can also search by date ... Hope these avenues help ... Rz |

| 27647 | 2004-03-01 05:45:00 | It's called using the search facility James. It makes sense to search for a similar/related problem you are having and adding to the thread if need be.It's a bit pointless having a search section if all it does is take up space. What you should also notice is that the problems people had a few years ago,are still being had today. I noticed that this is Customcuts first post in PF1,and he/she obviously used the search facility, found the related problem, before diving in headfirst. Welcome to PF1 Customcuts. I now use the search myself on a regular basis and in most cases there's really no need to post a new thread,if my problem has been resolved. Try it ,you may like it. Cheers A. |
