27805 2001-12-17 09:41:00 Hi,
I have recently purchased a new system. Norton's AV keeps telling me my Virus Definitions are out of date...they are...but when I run 'Live Update' I get a message that the new definitions cannot be installed! My Subscription is current. I am running WindowsXP Home & using Norton's AntiVirus 2002. Your help would be appreciated.

27806 2001-12-17 09:55:00 nortons are quite often 'down' or not working for short periods of time. so keep trying. make sure you are registered. their site could have some clues also. bad news...if you bought vers 2002 for XP like me i have found microsoft are slowly making XP backwards compatable. recent windows update stated xp now compatable with vers 2001. I'll keep trying, and check out their site also for help.

27809 2001-12-19 04:57:00 Hi,
Thanks to you both for your help. I now have the latest virus definitions! I decided to try to run 'Live Update' at a different time of day...eg early morning...it worked! Not sure if 'that' was the reason, but definitions all up to date now.
Thanks once again.
