| 27786 | 2001-12-17 07:07:00 | I have just got a Windows XP Pro Trial version and it has 30 days of trial. So what happens after that time. does it just stop starting up or does it continue to be used? (hope so!!! ^-^) Thanks |

Possibly to enable time to upgrade to a full copy perhaps? I would like to know what XP does, -if you were feeling charitable you could set the clock forward and get back to us with the result. :) I expect somewhere buried in the MS website the information you seek will be stashed. |

| 27788 | 2001-12-17 23:15:00 | When the evaluation period has expired on a computer that is running a copy of Windows XP the following message is displayed when you start your computer: 'The evaluation period for this copy of Windows has ended. Windows cannot continue loading.' When you click OK , your computer shuts down. To remove the evaluation period you can upgrade the computer before the expiration time. If the evaluation period has already expired, then you will have to either perform a clean installation or perform an in-place upgrade in Safe mode. To upgrade in Safe mode, restart the computer, and then boot into Safe mode. Log on to the computer by using the administrator account. Upgrade the operating system to the full retail version. |
