| 27757 | 2001-12-17 02:27:00 | Hi, I zip around a few schools helping out, some have a Linux server and some run W2k server, the Linux ones are such a problem in that they will randomly not issue a workstation (W98se)with an IP address, this can last for up to a week, then the workstation will suddenly log in ok(nothing altered), at first I thought it was a Win problem, but this has never been an issue with the W2k servers (static IP's)The Linux is done by a third party who will blame Win for everything. Is there anything I should check on the workstations before complaining to them. | Guest (0) | ||

Have you had a look at the HOWTO files? http:/nix.tmk.auckland.ac.nz/LDP/HOWTO/mini/DHCP/x369.html mentions a problem with Windows clients (but I would expect it to be fixed if the clients work at all). |
