27882 2001-12-18 02:09:00 Hi, just got cdrw Ricoh MP7200A, and is trying to figure how to install it. Do I just connect the power and ide cable, then turn on the computer? Then install drivers, etc. then will it automaticaly appear in my computers as a new drive? DO i need to do anything in the BIOS? or anything else

thanks

27883 2001-12-18 02:39:00 Yeah hi
coneect the cables, and do you have another CDrom installed? if so, you may have to put the cdwriter to slave, (look where u plug in the cables) and when u boot up, your PC SHOULD reconise it and will ask for its drivers etc.
However, if it came with a CD, that has the installation stuff on it, sometimes u put the cd in BEFORE u install the CDRW and it tells u wot to do and it will switch itself off, then when u boot up, the program on the cd will take over and take u through every thing.
Hope tht helps
:)

27887 2001-12-19 02:03:00 Put your hard disk on one ide cable and your cd drive/drives on the other. In the bios you might want to change your drive settings to autodetect, it varies by make. You probably wont need a driver if you have a modern operating system. Make sure that each CD ROM drive has power plugged into it from the motherboard. Guest (0)
