27914 2001-12-18 04:56:00 I am running Windows ME. When i use my antivirus program to scan my computer i get a warning on a file c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\NIAUXNetit.Drv.drv. I have the message come up 'This file can not be innoculated. Disc is full or not a valid program.' There are no options available to repair, delete, innoculate, exclude or for information. What is this file? What does it do ? (It appears to be a hidden file). My antivirus program also states that this is not a virus. However i have had this problem since a virus was removed from my computer, my local computer shop also says that my computer is clean of viruses. Guest (0)
27915 2001-12-18 05:28:00 I haven't heard of that file before but what you could try is moving that file to a different location that isn't a path. Just create a new folder in C: and move it there. Restart your computer and if any errors occurs with programs in say a month you could possible assume it's safe to delete. It's quite strange that it has two extensions. Usually if you didn't have the file extensions option showing it would only appear as a .drv file so you wouldn't think anything strange about it. Guest (0)
27916 2001-12-18 07:46:00 I also searched my computer for this file, or anything similar, and came up blank.

I've searched Norton Antivirus website for any info on that file, and that also came up blank, so I'd suggest that its not a virus, but there is the possibility it could contain one...

I'd do what Kame suggested and move it to another folder to see if anything is trying to run it, and if you don't have problems (give it time, like a week or so, and try to run all the programs on your computer just so everything has a chance to look for it if its needed) then you could probably safely delete the file.
