| 28215 | 2001-12-21 03:53:00 | I have a Presario 4540 with 2 mb video memory that the kids use. My son wants to run 'Need for Speed Porche (sp)2000' which specifies 4 mb of video memory. The video card is on the motherboard and I dont think you can upgrade it is there any way round this? | Guest (0) | ||
| 28216 | 2001-12-21 04:08:00 | If it's an 'older model' and does not use part of the main memory (settable in the BIOS), there might be a couple of sockets on the motherboard to add memory. Even if you could get them, it might still be cheaper to buy a plugin video card. Being Compaq, there will be a label either inside the case lid (or underneath the box) telling you which jumper to change to disable the onboard video. | Guest (0) | ||
