28140 2001-12-20 11:08:00 Upgraded to this model from the basic web cam and found, as did s y, that the Create and Share software was not compatible with XP. I had to download the driver from the net to get my computer to recognise the camera, but of course all the help manuals are online - as in offline presently as the supplier is waiting for updated CDs. Does anyone have one of these and know much about the video function? I've taken a few trial clips but not all will save and open. All have been taken in the same lighting conditions and yet today only one out of four would allow me to preview. When I tried to save the images it kept saying to try again but I had to end up clicking on skip as it wouldn't save. The images in still mode are a bit blurry too - mainly because I can't figure out the focusing instructions. Strangely enough it seems to focus better in darker conditions than in daylight. Any help or tips would be appreciated. Guest (0)
28141 2001-12-21 02:58:00 Hey, with the windows xp create 'n share programs, after ringing up intel technical support, they said the cd will be arriving in asia pacific very soon.

I am also looking to change cameras as my easy one isn't good. Where did you get your Intel Pocket Camera? And for how much? Can you give me the details of the shop you brought it at, (only if in Auckland) 'cos they're $250 @ the shop I looked at. And with the memory (which is 8MB) does it really take the amount it says it takes on its website, is that figure on the website true, 'cos some other cameras take nly 20 when they're at the same resolution and memory, very funny how that happens?

Thanks

28142 2001-12-21 06:08:00 Hi s y, thanks for the info. I got my camera through the PC Co, cost an extra $199 to upgrade. If you can get one for $250, go for it, as Bits and Bytes in P. North has them for $439! I only got it a week or so back (delivery probs!) so haven't yet taken it to the max. Having trouble with the video mode at present, but photos seem ok. Have only taken around 10 in one go, so can't help much. Will have a play this week (Xmas and all that jazz!) and let you know what I find. Must confess I find it very limited after using Canon EOS professional digital cameras in my last job! Good luck, and Merry Christmas. Guest (0)
