| 28327 | 2001-12-22 14:26:00 | I recently bought a Guillemot Cougar Video Edition Maxi Gamer graphics card. It has 32MB of memory and uses the Riva TNT2 M64 chipset. In the settings panel there is a facility to change the Core Clock and Memory Clock frequencies, I would like to know if increasing these values will improve performance of the card and if so how high can I push them. Currently the Core Clock Frequency is set at 125Mhz and the Memory clock Frequency is set at 150Mhz. What is RAMDAC?... on the box it says this operates at 300Mhz, is there any link between RAMDAC and the core and memery clock frquencies. I am very happy with the card's performance so far but if I can increase it a little more then I would like to do so. Please advise on this thanks. Board SPECS: 32MB memory Nvidia Riva TNT2 M64 chipset PCI interface card Core clock freq = 125Mhz Memory clock freq = 150Mhz |

RAMDAC is the digital to analogue converter that converts the video output to something the monitor can use. not linked with core or memory speeds and is non adjustable. |
