| 28587 | 2001-12-26 06:30:00 | hi I've been living in the country-side for several months and have basically subscribed to ultra due to the terrible phone lines meaning slow connections. Down-load time is fantastic from the satellite but I still get 'hangs' sometimes for 30 seconds where no response takes place. I would have thought that a crappy phone line would SLOW things rather that STOP requests..??? ideas? (win98SE, athlon 1.4G, IE 6.0) |

| 28588 | 2001-12-27 00:50:00 | details please ;-) its hard to say..it could be just a slow site or net weather . also with bad phone lines that get a lot of packet loss you may find that the commands you upload by phone line are getting lost/dropped hence need to resend them. also the modem you use can make a diff. i have a cust of mine up here with 27k bs phonelines. changing the 56k winmodem to an old 33k isa helped a lot. |
