28524	2001-12-25 05:47:00	We had a chinese student stay with us & we installed CStar a chinese translator programme which we have removed (i hope fully) however the student also installed a programme called Tencent & or qq a chinese version of icq, which also installed a virus called js exeception.exe which is a worm that changes your web page to theirs in this case a soft porn page. I have deleted these files & also the virus via Norton but on my start menu & desktop qq shortcut files remain & i cant delete them it says 'cant delete file, file system error (1026)' Also the Tencent file is there also & i cant delete that fully as it comes up with message 'Cannot delete _ 1/2 ((a file name within Tencent i think associated to the qq)) cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path & file name'. I have tried the find the comand & it leads me back to the same file How can i get it compltely removed. Also when right click on a web page i get the list of files etc & on it under the topic search using Coppernic is a file that is AiAaODu043/4 but as in chinese i think & if i click on it i get the virus warning or did once dont wish to try it again in case it installs it again even tho it seems i removedit. 28526	2001-12-25 07:50:00	... if Kama Kazee's suggestion does not eliminate your annoyance, you might consider using a Third-Party Utility to clean out rogue programme keys from your 'Registry'. There are several very good, Freeware options available. In no particular order - here are my favourites: * http://www.jv16.org/ [this utility has my preferred interface] * www.toniarts.com [this utility does a more exacting search] Maybe start with the first one, learn how it works and Apply. 28527	2001-12-30 23:18:00	Hi thanks for your sugestions. Apologies for sounding Dumb but i cant remember how to do the DOS thing. I restarted PC in DoS mode then did the DIR command & of course whole screen flashed by cant remember how to view page by page I did dwnload your other sugestion & it seems great but hasnt worked I am unsure if the files are still there but there shortcuts are which i can t remove from the desktop as it says it cant delter system error (1026) Also a reference is also on the menu when you right click on web page which i also cant remove	Guest (0)
