| 28483 | 2001-12-24 09:30:00 | I downloaded Internet explorer to replace netscape. I started the PC up and only get the screen with the desktop picture(clouds). No toolbars no Start button on which I can then sort things out. Nothing. How do I retify this problem. Running windows 98. Thanks Julie |

| 28484 | 2001-12-25 05:53:00 | Hi Julie, It sounds like you need to get into Safe Mode which can easily be achieved by hitting the F5 key repeatedly while the machine is booting up. Once in Safe Mode you should be able to look around and do things, eg uninstall what you did last. Have a good Christmas, Ron! |

| 28485 | 2001-12-25 06:55:00 | Sorry Julie, Although the f5 key will get you into safe mode the correct way is to press f8 a few times while windows is loading. This will give you a menu from which you choose option 3 which is Safe Mode. Best of luck, Ron |
