28589 2001-12-26 05:18:00 I have $500 to spend (it could be streched to $600 if absolutely necessary). Whereabouts should I go to get the best bang for my buck (note that I am in Christchurch)? Few sellers appear to understand how quickly PCs depreciate, and tend to ask far more than their computers are really worth.

www.trademe.co.nz seems to be a good option because auctions should theoretically ensure a sale price that reflects the true market value of the system, but I would be interested in any suggestions as to where else I might be able to buy.

I don't require a printer, or any software because I already have an operating system and applications ready to install, but the $500 would need to include a monitor.

Thanks in advance.

28592 2001-12-28 05:42:00 Thanks for that. Do they perform their auctions on the same premises as their retail stores? Do you know whereabouts I would get a schedule of products to auctioned? Guest (0)
