| 1286414 | 2012-07-06 06:56:00 | Any comments? "Over a thousand New Zealanders risk losing their internet access on Monday. All servers infected with the virus, DNSCharger, will be shut-down at 4am by the FBI. Internet NZ Chief Executive, Vikram Kumar, warns many people will be unaware their computer is infected. "People could've just been doing something completely innocent, hadn't actually clicked on a link, simply gone to a website. It would've been sufficient to have infected them." People can visit www.dns-ok.org.nz to see if their computer is infected". HERE (nz.news.yahoo.com) |

That's true, but in this case if you get people calling up, DNS is usually one of the last things that a helpdesk monkey checks when they ring their ISP complaining their DSL doesn't work. On top of that, it's been a publicized date so a lot of ISPs will know that if a client calls up on that day with issues, it means they don't have appropriate protection, and they can give them some advice on that. |
