| 1285643 | 2012-07-03 11:16:00 | You have to go into the bios and change the bootdisk to the DVD save settings. Reboot, then press a key, when it says press a key. Then follow whats on the screen. Once windows has been installed, remove the DVD, change the bootdisk to the hdd, Save settings / reboot. Or you could use dban (its in ISO format, so you'll have to burn the ISO to cd first), to format the hdd (it may take a while, depending on how big the hdd is), then install Windows | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1285644 | 2012-07-03 11:26:00 | Thanks will that boot from dvd auto or do I have to alter bios ?? Depends on how the BIOS is set up already. It may be already set to check CD\DVD first before HDD. Any machine made in the last several years should have a boot selection menu also, usually F8 or F11 or such, then you can select CD\DVD boot manually, that's another way you can do it. |
