1286039 2012-07-05 02:14:00 Normally I run MSE and malwarebytes on my pc, but I found a free giveaway of IObit Maware Fighter Pro. I've downloaded and virus scanned it (all clean) but haven't installed it yet. I was wondering how it stands up to Malwarebytes free.

:thanks

1286040 2012-07-05 03:15:00 I would stick with Malwarebytes. A few yrs ago now (2008/09 I think), Malwarebytes found out / accused Iobit of stealing the code they used in Mbam's database (in Iobit Security 360, for detecting whatever malware (forums.malwarebytes.org)). But they denied it. I dont know if Iobit are still doing it. Or doing the same thing with other programs they make. But at the time, sites that had Iobit Sec 360 were asked to remove it. No one Antimalware program does it all, The most common ones are Malwarebytes, Super Antispyware, Spybot S&D -- Personally I 've been using Superantispyware pro, the Paid version, mainly because it has active protection, and does auto updates and scheduled scans, where as the free one doesn't.

If you got it From Giveawayofthe day its only good for 6 months anyway.

1286042 2012-07-05 05:31:00 Yes I got it from giveaway of the day. Read up about it, and doesn't sound too good. Apart from what Speedy mentioned, a lot of the reviews were very negative. Have decided to keep Malwarebytes and not install it. Nick G (16709)
