28633 2001-12-26 09:58:00 Do I need a type of program to do this or do I insert HTML, Javascript or any other language into the site to play it when the page loads. Or do I have to convert the MP3 into a format that can be played on websites? Guest (0)
28634 2001-12-26 21:09:00 You can link in just about anything - Word documents, Excel spreadsheets etc. Only thing being the visitor needs the program to read it installed.

Trouble with mp3s is that they are about 3Mb or more. How many visitors wait that long for it to download? Also, do you have enough room on your host site to store these files?

28635 2001-12-26 23:34:00 I don't personally use it, but I am fairly sure Flash 5 supports streaming MP3 playback, so maybe if you attached a 1x1 pixel (transparent?) flash movie, and program it to playback the mp3 in a streaming fashion - you should be sorted.
Mind you, the previous comment has the same questions I would ask regarding server size allowance, etc.

28636 2001-12-27 00:59:00 I'm trying to build the site on CD so they won't need to wait for the file to download as it'll be on the CD.

Just something I thought I would get into for next year.

Would they need to have the plugin for Flash for it to work?
