28629 2001-12-26 09:20:00 How do I stop an unwanted homepage from coming up automatically each time I restart my PC.

I select a homepage site & apply. This works OK during my current session only.

Please help

Thanks

28630 2001-12-26 18:03:00 You have to go a bit more than apply, you need to click the 'set as default button', then apply. Guest (0)
28631 2001-12-26 23:30:00 Hi Cee, is it always the same unwanted home page and which one is it. Maybe you have an application that starts at load time that insists on changing your home page in order to advertise it's services.

28632 2001-12-27 13:40:00 Hi Cee,

I am having the same problem. See my Post 28/12/01.
Have since found a temp file under System folder called rad4841D.tmp
Viewing it shows first line as
REGEDIT4
then about 12 different lines all defining that Start Page, Search page, SearchURL, Search Bar, CustomizeSearch, SearchAssistant, all repeated twice, = http:// 'pornosite'.com

I don't know anything about registry but it would appear that prehaps the registry has been edited by some means to change the defaults in Internet Explorer each time at startup.
If this is the case then how do we change it back and to what?

A perplexed punter,
Grant
