28669	2001-12-26 16:23:00	I am running Win XP Pro with 163MB RAM. When i bring up the Task Manager and click on the performance tab. It gives a PF(pagefile) usage of 90MB although it displays 54MB of RAM Available under Physical Memory description in the task manager.Why is WinXP using so much of pagefile size when there is enough RAM available for usage?? I dont have any apps running when i view this info and even then theres this huge pagefile usage going on.Will adding more RAM reduce that pagefile size or is WinXP chewing more RAM for its process running in the background? 28670	2001-12-27 00:43:00	The pagefile is taking care of some of the programs that don't need to be loaded into your RAM at that time. It's better to have your RAM available for the programs you are using and not the ones that are not being in use. Adding more RAM would increase your pagefile to allow more swapping room so you can expect a larger pagefile but you'll get better performance having more RAM. There's an option in XP that allows Windows to give either Programs or System Services better performance.	Guest (0)
