28944 2001-12-28 22:21:00 My PC crashed and have to reformat my HDD. Everything went smoothly except for modem driver. Apparently, Windows98 detected the device but was unbale to find a driver!

I have no driver for that modem and don't even know the make and model of the modem. It is not printed on the Modem (internal modem).

Where and how can I find the driver for my modem?

28945 2001-12-28 22:45:00 You could try, control panel/add new hardware, windows will detect plug and play modem/ select driver from a list, try standard modem.

Also when windows detects it, it might tell you what sort it is, so keep an eye out.

If the standard driver works, come back and I will tell you, how to find what the make actually is.

28946 2001-12-28 23:52:00 Windows detected the device as PCI Communications Device but was unable to find a driver! I tried using Standard Modem but it doesn't work. Guest (0)
