28923 2001-12-28 11:23:00 ~recently I've been looking at Dual Processing Boards.

Has anyone had any experience with them.

I've been looking at Pentium III based boards. The ASUS VP6 and the MSI 694D Pro2.

What do you think about Dual Processing, any problems you've encountered and any recommendations on what board I should look at.

AMD Dual Processing is fine too.

28924 2001-12-28 11:54:00 Do you have a particular reason for going dual processor?

Having two processors won't give you twice the performance, its closer to 1.5. And any programs you run will need to be multi-threaded to use both processors.

28925 2001-12-28 12:31:00 ~I currently have two workstations that are set up peer to peer.

I thought I would get another PC and set that up as a dedicated server for printing and file sharing, gaming and internet connection sharing.

I am going to expand by getting more workstations later on but I thought about setting up a server first.
