You do not need to upgrade or format so forget that. 1) Go to windows update: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com then click product updates and download the shutdown patch. The description for it may seem not quite your problem but its the fix u want. It is called Win 98 shutdown patch. reboot after the download. that should fix it! if not 2)right-click on your desktop and click properties, then screensaver tab up the top, and then settings for the power management. for a start try turning that off completely with the drop down menus and selecting 'never' and if both those dont solve the problem try the folowing 3) when your computer boots it will say 'press delete to enter setup' or words to that effect. do this and look for a section called power management. I dont suggest you go playing in your 'BIOS' unless u know what your doing. hope this clears things up. feel free to email me spyda_munkee@hotmail.com or make another post. |
